I know you're been waiting for this so....

Here's a little update on me....

I've been keeping upi with my running schedule...I'm about 6 weeks in or so, and for the most part things are going well, I'm still ahead of schedule, and a bit of a new development....I think that im going to run the Scotiabank Half marathon in September, and then the full thing in October, depending on how I feel, and how fast I recover. Ambitious? Probably, but a challenge is something I don't run away from.

As far as my training is going...so far so good, with a few exceptions. first when I'm running 10k I do alright, but as soon as I try to push it just one more K I start to get blisters on the instep of my feet.

So i went to the only place I know (the running room) and had a nice long chat with a lady that worked there (Katharine) and she personally assessed my feet, and my running style which was pretty cool. What she suggested was that I first try different socks because that's a more cost effective strategy of fixing things. She said I should buy double layer socks, which 90% of the time work. so it's better then buying 150$ + pair of shoes, at least for the time being.

So today I went and bought them...still almost 50$ just for socks....not a big fan of that either, but we'll see if she was right...She also said that my feet would get adjusted to running longer distance as time goes on, but in the mean time the socks are a start.

next she told me to bring in my shoes to see how they are wearing out, that will help confirm what she thinks my problem in....so I hope she's ready to smell my shoes hahaha

Otherwise everything is going pretty well I'd say...although it is beginning to get a bit boring on the those long runs since no one I know wants to come out and run with me, but i just turn up the tunes anyways and sing in my head.

Oh and another thing I'm dealing with is the weather...now when i started this i was running in the morning for the most part but even when i ran in the afternoon it was April, so the weather was fine. Even now I try to run either in the morning, before work, or right after work which is around 6...but some day's its still pretty warm out, and I think that definitely effects my training performance...so when that happens I run at night, usually around 9:00-10:30 but now that's starting to effect my sleep time, and I need my 8 hours hahaha...but its turning into 7, then 6 and tonight being Thursday (stonecottage night) I'll be getting less then 4 most likely so I need to find a work/life/training balance

And last thing I wanted to share is that i broke 190lb on Monday so yay for me!

Cheers
